Cheney has accepted the Republican vice-presidential nomination in 2007, stated that his hopes were high for serving under a president that is able to work across party lines and work with political rivals by fostering goodwill and working towards a common goal. Richard Bruce Cheney is the son of Richard Herbert Cheney of the late Marjorie Lauraine Dickey. He was born on January 30, 1941 at Lincoln Nebraska. At the age of 13, Richard Bruce and his family moved from Nebraska to Casper (in the state of Wyoming) in Wyoming, where his father worked as the director of the U.S. Department of Agriculture's soil conservation district.
