Anna Leigh Ashford

Annaleigh Amanda Ashford (born April 14 1988) was an American actor, singer as well as a dancer. Some of her early Broadway shows included Wicked Legally Blonde Hair. Her first Tony Award was given to Ashford for her performance as Essie Carmichael from You Can't Take It With You. Annaleigh is a collaborator on projects with award-winning director, actors, and producers throughout the course of her professional career. Ashford will be next as a co-star with Kumail Nanjiani, as Robert Siegel's Hulu exclusive Welcome to Chippendales. It will premiere on 22nd November. Ashford is currently working on Searchlight Pictures' horror thriller Dust with Sarah Paulson, Ebon Moss Bachrach and Ebon Mosch Bachrach. The movie will air on Disney DTC as it becomes a Hulu Original. It will be released in 2023, March. Ashford will return to Broadway and will be starring alongside Josh Groban in the revival of Stephen Sondheim's Sweeney Todd at the Lunt-Fontanne Theatre. This show will be led by Thomas Kail and produced by Jeffrey Seller, the team which produced Hamilton. Ashford was last seen as Paula Jones in Ryan Murphy FX show American Crime Story Impeachment. The show centers around the National Crisis that saw Paula Jones Monica Lewinsky Linda Tripp in the middle of the country's First Impeachment Proceedings over a Century. Ashford appeared for two seasons in the CBS popular comedy B Positive. It was created by Marco Pennette Chuck Lorre with the famous Linda Lavin Hector Elizondo Ben Vereen. Ashford, who is not unfamiliar with Broadway won both Tony Drama Desk Awards as along with Outer Critics Circle Awards in her role as Essie. Her additional Broadway roles include Sunday in the Park with George Wicked Legally Blonde and the lead role in Lauren as Lauren in Kinky Boots a performance for which she also received a Tony Award nomination. Ashford splits her life between Los Angeles & New York. She was born in Denver and was raised in Denver.
