Laura Linney is an American actor, who became well-known for her performance of strong but vulnerable characters. In the summer, while working in her father's company, Laura Linney became fascinated with theatre. Then in her time at Brown University she studied acting and also at Juilliard School, after which, her career took off. When she graduated at Brown University she made making her Broadway debut shortly thereafter. Within two years of this, her first feature film was released and the next year she made her television debut. Since then she's been in many TV productions, films and stage plays. There have been numerous awards throughout her career. This includes 4 Primetime Emmy Awards, two Golden Globe Awards, three Academy Award Nominations, and five Tony Award Nominations. Her nominations include five Tony Awards and three Oscar Awards nominations. But, in spite of her distinctions and awards, theater is her main interest and she is determined to perform on stage and screen.
