Jenna Fischer was best known for portraying Pam Beesly (the character of The Office) on television. This role brought her an Emmy nomination for Most Outstanding Supporting Actress category and she also won two SAG Awards, both for extraordinary performances on an ensemble comedy.
Born in Fort Wayne Indiana, she spent most of her childhood living in St. Louis Missouri. Jenna was impressed by her mother's worship services as she began her career.
An actress trained in theater, Fischer returned to her home base after finishing The Office. She was a part of the Off-Broadway play Reasons to Be Happy that was directed and written by Neil LaBute and co-starring Josh Hamilton, Leslie Bibb, as well as Fred Weller. In the following play, she was in Steve Martin's latest show Meteor Shower. It was a comedy that was absurd, starring Greg Germann, Josh Stamberg and ran for record-breaking time at Old Globe Theatre.
The Office's Angela Kinsey (the co-star of Fischer) and her actual best friend Angela Kinsey of The Office, started a podcast in the month of October. It was titled Office Ladies. The show has since become extremely popular and has landed in the Top Ten every single week. Its initial year, it had more than 200,000,000 downloads. Office Ladies was awarded the iHeart Radio Podcast of the year in January 2021.
She is the writer of The Actor's Life : A Survival Guide (coauthored with Angela Kinsey), in which her story of moving between St. Louis to Hollywood and becoming a working actress is narrated. The Office BFF's : Tales of The Office by Two Best Friends that Were There is as well a personal memoir about Angela Kinsey and herself, and their friendship while working in The Office.
